Additionally, it provides information concerning the new inventions in the development of robots for medical or rather health care purposes. It gives an overview of the technology used in the control or manipulation of the robots to meet the specific needs of a given patient. Besides the exoskeletons, it gives a detailed account of the other types of robots that have been developed to enhance the provision within the healthcare sector. They include the ORS Image Trac Video System, which is used by surgeons during operations.

The first is having a single therapist provide supervision to several patients working with training systems simultaneously. The second model entails having a patient work at home with a robot or virtual reality system with remote supervision from a therapist while the third is about having a patient work independently with technology-based training system, with periodic review as well as adjustment of their exercise program by a therapist. The book gives the advantages as well as the disadvantages of using robots for rehabilitation purposes. It also outlines the risks involved with the different types of exercises that are performed with the assistance of robots.

It outlines the ethical, legal and social issues associated to the use of robots in the medical field, which is important in enhancing my understanding about the topic.
