The management identified a gap that needed to be filled in the current demand for electricity. Currently, energy demands by the consumers is being met by the government owned Steam hydroelectric power company. The power lines supply energy needs of consumers and industries which are located across major roads and near public facilities. The demands of families and industries located in the interior parts have not been met and this has created the need to supply them with cheap alternative sources of energy and thus the need for solar panels. Thus there is big opportunity to be exploited given the current conditions. Consumers have been complaining due to high installation costs and expensive electricity bills provided by the national steam hydroelectricity power. The alternative source of cheap electricity will provide them with very cheap and low cost maintained solar panels.
The company boasts itself of having the best corporate managers in the country who have successfully geared many reputable companies to the level they are today. The CEO is the former director the National Environmental conservation body and brings with him high level of expertise in this company.
Goals and Objectives
Push for legislations to limit the use of non-renewable energy sources while promoting the use of renewable energy sources.
We have already partnered with the government which agreed to provide subsidies to ensure the success of the project. The government will allow the company to import electronics from Japan which will be duty free for the first 11 years of operation after which the company will be taxed at the rate of 8% of all its income. The government will provide land at a subsidized price in one of the public fields which are no longer in use due to transfer of the public offices to another location. The company has also partnered with the National Environmental conservation Authority. We are seeking to partner with the United Nations Environmental conservation Agency as we seek to expand our business internationally.
The company will have a higher clientele of customers who will mainly be the manufacturing, production firms, government agencies and individual consumers. The company is the only one of this kind in the market hence it will be the sole provider of renewable energy solutions
The company’s competitors are the small existing 2 companies that normally produces small duty solar panels but they do not provide installation services of solar energy power plants. They have been poor in satisfying the market needs since their productions are very low. This is why the Steam hydroelectricity company has continued to dominate the market charging exploitative prices.
Revenues and resources
The company is expecting to break-even within two to three years when it will be able to generate enough profits to cover up its operation. The company has applied for patents and it is expecting to be granted the patent to manufacture and supply heavy duty solar panels only.
The company has managed to secure a patent from the government legalizing as the sole assembler of heavy duty solar panels
The company will also be importing its electronics inputswithout paying duty tax on them for the first 10 years.
Critical Success Factors
- Involvement of government to take advantage of incentives of a green business. The government has set up incentives to encourage green businesses. It will be crucial that government be involved to fully take advantage of these incentives.
- Effective marketing for the better part of the first financial year.
- Proximity and availability of raw materials.
This venture will go a long way in solving the current energy problems facing the country and the world. The company will focus on factories and plants since they are one of the largest consumers of energy and the biggest emitters of Green House Gases.
